This is beyond genius! Time-sensitive logins/data access. you guys are onto something that I think you need to consider properly protecting/monetizing. I have connections to a someone who can get a patent for a technology about 5-8 times as fast as the industry standard at 3 times the average success rate (i.e. 100% current success rate) for about 1/4 the normal price. He's already investing in me, and I think you guys would be quite interesting in him. Let's talk.

- Austin

We were recently asked about how the data gets stored, as it appears to be in plain text when viewed. The encryption process goes as follows: A 10-character, random, never been used (unique), lowercase alpha-numeric URL is created for the information. Behind the scenes, this URL is concatenated with a server-side string, and then hashed using SHA1 and stored. The remaining information proceeds to be stored with 256-bit AES encryption, using a 32-character encryption key concatenated with the URL. To retrieve the information, we take the URL you entered, hash it appropriately, and if there is a matching entry all the other data is decrypted using the URL as part of the key.

Whether you know what that all means or not, it leads to the fact that even if someone got to the server or database, it would take a matter of months or years to decrypt it and make it useful (links can only exist for a week anyways). These methods use the URL as a one-way key, and without it, you can't get anything.
